Habitat for Hope

Mylissa Horrocks from Habitat for Hope came to speak to us on Thursday.  Mylissa and her husband Mark have been called to minister full-time through their non-profit organization, Habitat for Hope (HFH). Habitat for Hope is dedicated to support, serve and care for families enduring childhood cancer and life threatening illness. The Horrockses share God’s love by filling practical, emotional, financial and spiritual needs.

Mark and Mylissa understand the affects childhood cancer has on a family, because their own daughter Bella was diagnosed with cancer in 2003. By the grace of God, she is now cancer free. Their ministry is based in Memphis, Tennessee, where the ministry can serve as many as 350 families every night coming from over 70 countries worldwide every year.

The heart of Habitat for Hope is to glorify the name of Christ in the direst circumstances. The Horrocks’ desire is for God to use them as vessels to create a love for Christ and a life of worship that transcends the hardest situations.

Grace Evan MOPS has chosen Habitat for Hope as our Service Project.  On Thursday we put together 72 gift boxes for families at Le Bonheur.  These gift boxes were full of snacks and water for families who have critically ill children at Le Bonheur.
