"Think Before You Squeeze"

"Think before you squeeze"

Each table was given a tube of toothpaste, paper plate and a straw.  On the count of three each table was to squeeze all the toothpaste out of the tube onto the paper plate.  The tube of toothpaste had to be squeezed by each mom.

After all the toothpaste was squeezed onto the paper plate, as a table we were to decide who our most competitive mommy was.  It was her responsibility to get all the toothpaste back into the tube only using the straw. 

Well wouldn't you know it, it was next to impossible to get all that toothpaste back into its tube.  Just as it is almost impossible to get the toothpaste back in the tube, it is near impossible to take back unkind words that may come out of our mouths or our children's mouths. 

This is a great activity to physically show your children the meaning of this verse....

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."  Ephesians 4:29
